The "new" South Border.
Okei.
Since I've been asked 8 times already (yes, may makulit), by 5 different people, 2 of which I have no idea who they are, in the last 3 months, I think it's time that I blog about it na.
If for some reason, you don't have television, internet, or friends (joke lang), and you still haven't heard the news, Duncan Ramos and Vince Alaras left South Border late last year. So yes, the chismis are true.
[ Message from Duncan Ramos & Vince Alaras; Message from Jay Durias ]
Duncan Ramos & Vince Alaras left the band to pursue solo careers. Don't be polemical about why they left. There's no reason to doubt naman, so let's just all accept that reason. Butch Victoriano, Paul Benitez & Tata Balane have also left the group. Please, let us respect their decisions.
I know that a lot of SB fans are saddened, disappointed, and whatnot. But, really, there's nothing we can do about it na, we should just be happy for them. If it's hard for you, just imagine how hard it was for them.
On a brighter note, South Border, Duncan Ramos, and Vince Alaras, are all still in the music industry (so are Butch Victoriano, Paul Benitez & Tata Balane, I just still have to find out kung anong band and where. will blog about it as soon as I know na). Now instead of just being a South Border fan, you can also be Ducan Ramos and Vince Alaras's fan. Three is better than one. The more the merrier. Nge. Hehehe.
So here it is... SOUTH BORDER's current lineup includes:
JAY DURIAS - Keys, Vocals
PIDO LALIMARMO - Guitar, Vocals
MARLOWE MATA - Bass
RANCIS DE LEON - Saxophone
RIC JUNASA - Saxophone
KELL GATDULA - Vocals
BENJIE MENDEZ - Drums
Here's a little video of South Border @ GMA 7's SOP:

And, yes, South Border is in the Philippines. And if you are too, go out and watch them. Show them the love and support. =)
Thank you!
Love,
Me
