Following the successful entry of GMA Pinoy TV in Las Vegas, GMA Network brings to town its first ever Entertainment Festival and Christmas Fair dubbed "Kapuso Fever" on December 2 at the Sports Center of Las Vegas, featuring some of the hottest and brightest performers from GMA7, the number one television network in the Philippines today. Gates open at 12 noon and admission is FREE!
Topping the entertainment guest list are Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, lead stars of "Marimar", the phenomenal and highest-rated primetime telenovela in the Philippines today. The weeknight melodrama is such a massive hit that since its premier in mid-August, it has posted consistently high Mega Manila ratings peaking to as high as 47.9% on October 23, 2007, and surpassing even the original Mexican telenovela which aired in the Philippines in the late 90’s starring Mexican TV actress Thalia.
The overnight success of the "Marimar" series catapulted virtually unknown Marian Rivera into stardom while her leading man Dingdong Dantes -- actor, model, host and director – is no longer just another handsome heartthrob of a hunk but one of the most passionate, young and certified true actors in the entertainment industry today.
The Las Vegas stop is the first and only U.S. visit this year for the two stars since the premier of "Marimar". They will take time out of their hectic schedule to entertain “kababayans” in the world’s entertainment capital.
Another GMA7 artist to take time out from his hectic schedule is singing-dancing sensation JayR, Popularly known as the Philippines' Prince of R&B music, JayR is a mainstay of GMA7’s Sunday musical variety show "SOP" and is one the busiest entertainers in the Philippines today. Although his young career is focused on music, California-born Jay-R has landed a number of memorable character roles as a swashbuckling tribe leader GMA7’s fantasy series Encantadia (2006), wicked Haring Bagulbol in the fantasy flick Exodus (2005), love interest in the Season 4 and 7 series of Love to Love, and support lead in the comedy films “So Happy Together” and “Hari ng Sablay” (both released in 2005).
Also appearing as performer and host is singer-actress and recording artist Ciara Sotto, co-host of the longest-running daily noontime show Eat Bulaga and star of the soon-to-be-launched Las Vegas musical "Fever". As an added treat, Ciara and “Fever” co-stars will render a special number to give the audience a glimpse of their much-awaited show at the brand new Melanja Sky Hotel and Restaurant. Her co-stars include powerful vocalist Karlyn Bayot (sister of Las Vegas sensation Lani Misalucha) and Rizza Navales, Universal Artist recording star and Female Vocal Solo gold medalist of the 8th World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA), a US-based talent competition.
To be featured is pop and R&B (band South Border lead) vocalist Duncan Ramos with South Border members Butch Victoriano, Paul Benitez and Tata Balane. The widely popular group has produced a number of amazing vocal talents in the past decade in addition to a string of hit songs the biggest of which is “Rainbow”, launched as part of the promotion of megastar Sharon Cuneta’s “Crying Ladies”, a 2003 Metro Manila Filmfest entry. Their unique brand of music also dominated Philippine television with the song “Ikaw Nga” – theme song of another GMA7 phenomenal hit TV series “Mulawin” which starred Richard Gutierrez. South Border has been performing in hip mainstream clubs in Southern California including “BB Kings” at Universal City Walk. Their song “Sweet” was the very first Filipino R&B song that earned airplay rights on 93.5 KDAY radio.
Introvoys, another popular group from the late 80's and known as “the band that helped spark a new generation,” will also perform. The group features musician/drummer Paco Arespacochaga who will also take on his new-found role of show host at this event. The Introvoys’ unforgettable hit singles such as “Will I Survive”, “Di Na Ko Aasa Pa”, “Binibini” and “Are You Happy”, among many others, were responsible for quadruple platinum honors earning them the title of “No.1 Band in the Land!” Members include Jonathan Buencamino (vocals), Steve Guadiz (guitar), Chot Ulep (bass), and JJ Buencamino (keyboards). Introvoys introduces their latest album project “New Beginnings.”
Sharing hosting chores as well as showcasing their vocal talents are the 2007 Pinoy Pop Superstar North America champions who competed in the World Contenders Grand Showdown in the Philippines last June namely Jae Buensuceso from San Francisco (Northern California Champion, World Contender winner and Grand Finalist) and Anthea Neri from North Carolina (East Coast Champion).

The star-studded entertainment extravaganza and Christmas Fair is slated for December 2, 2007 (Sunday) starting at 12 noon at the Sport Center of Las Vegas located at 121 E.
