SPOTLIGHT on Butch Victoriano.
Butch first strummed the guitar when he was twelve and was a professional musician at fourteen. At the beginning of his teenage life, he enjoyed playing with different musicians and earning from the craft he is passionate about. Aside from playing the guitar, Butch has found his talent for songwriting. In South Border's previous album The Way We Do, Butch composed the music for Will You Feel The Same and in their recent album Episode III, Butch penned the music for the hit single Better Man, which also became an all-time favorite in the top pop stations in Metro Manila.
"We've been here in the U.S. for only two months and I think I'm still adjusting. Not only with the weather but with the way of life. " Butch may have all those years of professional experience in music but learning has always been in his master plan. In a few months he would like to look into enrolling in one of the finest Music Schools in the United States and explore more about songwriting.
"Music has been my life.
I can't think of anything else that I should be doing."
I can't think of anything else that I should be doing."

SPOTLIGHT on Reynaldo "Ric" Junasa.
Ric Junasa.
The guy who always provided that sexy melody in every South Border song. Even when South Border was at the peak of their career in the Philippines, Ric still managed to finish his course at the University of the Philippines. It earned him a Music Certification major in Saxophone. "I had a chance to share my knowledge in music and inspire young children to enjoy and love music by teaching the students of Sunnydale Prepatory School", says Ric. He always enjoyed spending time with kids and being able to teach kids about music.

Things to be thankful for at Thanksgiving.
Well, today is Nov. 23, Thanksgiving day. I know, I know, its a U.S. (Canadian- Oct. 09) tradition but hey.. Who cares? Di ba? Walang pake-alaman. hehehe.
So, It's Thanksgiving.. and what are we (erm.. rather am I) thankful for?
Of course I won't bore you with non SB related post ;-)I already have my personal blog for that.
I'm thankful for South Border & to South Border (and everyone behind and beside SB - "the band").
I'm thankful for their music and to them for sharing it with the rest of us.
I haven't had the chance to meet them yet... So,even if I'm affected with feeling\too\close\too\soon syndrome, I won't pretend that I'm close to them because I am not.
But I heard (rather read) a lot of good things about them not as a band but as (human beings, hehehe!) Jay, Duncan, Vince, Ric, Tata, Butch & Paul. Through their songs they've touched millions, if not billions of lives. They share what they have and what they can. They use their talents to help others. Every now and then, I'll visit South Border Message Board and read through posts and see that SB don't act like most snobbish superstars do.. They treat their fans more like their friends and their just like one big happy family...
Now, tell me.. How can you be not thankful for South Border?
I am thankful for the opportunity to be one of the SBST leaders.. and for everyone I met (and will meet) thru SB-related stuffs. ;-)
A BIG...
Lastly, Thank you to and for Blogger. hehehe.
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! ^_^

- Thank you, South Border & everyone behind & beside SB - "the band";
Ms. Lucy, Ms. Sharon, Mr. Rodrigo, the PA's, the Technicians and everyone else (I'm not really familiar with who do what, so please bear with me).
- Thank you to all the Street Team Members and Fans (like yours truly. hahaha!) especially to those who don't only support SB but actually do something like spreading The Phenomenon named South Border.
- Thank you to those who believe and give SB the chance to prove themselves and show everyone that they are WORTH it.
A BIG, BIG, THANK YOU!
Lastly, Thank you to and for Blogger. hehehe.
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! ^_^
And yet again, I'm impressed.
Last sunday, (Nov. 19) I, once again had to watch SB's performance via BBkings.com, since I'm here and they're there... (hehehe! *corny*). Anyway, I always try to make sure that I'm online and logged on to BBkings.com whenever they're performing.. I know.. it may seem a little too obsessive (according to J. *tse!* hehehe!) to some of you.. but hey, some people don't sleep to watch Lost, some are crazy over The Bold and The Beautiful, and well, I <3 SB :-)
I never felt that having to wake up early on a sunday (then going back to bed after the show! hahaha!) to watch SB perform as a sacrifice. Its more of a "some-filipino-love-dose-I-need-every-now-and-then" slash "some-time-to-get-my-nose-off-those-school-books", plus I think its all worth it.. They just keep on getting better and better.. Their songs are addictive, their performances are addictive and they're addictive, as *insert name here* puts it "They're high quality performers".
by the way, next show at BBKINGS on Dec. 8, 2006 (Fri.) at 10 pm (PST).
That would be Dec. 9, 2006 (Sat.) at 7 am in Europe/Rome.
Don't forget to log on and watch them. ;-)

South Border at 7 in the morning.
originally posted on October 04, 2006 (@ my personal blog)
BBKINGSLIVE.com was launched last Sept. 30; saturday and South Border performed as the headliner. Friday night, knowing that A. and her boyfriend will be having a whole-day-long date, as in they'll be meeting up around 8 in the morning 'till "let's get comfy in bed" in the evening, I asked A. to give me a ring at 7:15-7:30 a.m. just to make sure that I'm awake and won't miss South Border's performance (10 pm in LA- 7 am in Milan). Damn! She was so excited (I don't even know if that's the right word) that she felt she had to wake me at 6:30 in the morning to make sure I won't miss a thing! Gggrrr... like when exactly are shows on time? or earlier? As you can see, I asked her to ring me at 7:15-7:30 am because I was SURE that they won't be performing at the time given. They got on stage around 7:30 am (10:30 LA time).
No, as obvious as it is, I did not fly to LA that morning just to watch their show at BBKINGS, I watched it thru BBKINGSLIVE.COM (via live streaming) and the show was WORTH the 6:30 am wake up call and the 1 hour of waiting (and the early breakfast and the early news on tv and the 2-3 cups more of my daily coffee intake). Really, the show was great! Of course, watching the show on my laptop and watching the show at BB KINGS are two different things but since no one offered a bed (and food) and a plane ticket, I didn't really have a choice, did I?
The boys were amazing! And the performance was extraordinary! Just like what... what's his name again? I can't remember.. but I think he was the owner.. (I said, I think, let's just call him MR. BBKINGSLIVE, hehehe.) anyway, just like him and everyone else, I was also blown away!!! (and just like Duncan, I also thank them for being there, hehehe! and especially for sharing their music with the rest of us..)
I was on the phone with A. when South Border got on stage but first "Mr. BBkingslive" did his "speech" uhm, i meant introduction of South Border, A. was curious on what this guy was saying that I had to use my "translating powers" (which by the way, is absolutely weak and rusty).
(maka-intindi yung gustong maka-intindi.. hehehe!)

- A: *utters something I did not understand*
- Din: eh? (I thought she missed something because I was talking.. erm, rather mocking Mr. BBkingslive pretty fast, I did not want to miss anything of what he was saying)
- A: I said "WOW".
- Din: huh? why?
- A: You said, the owner came up with the idea of launching the site (BBKINGSLIVE.COM, the live streaming thing) because of SB (South Border)!
- Din: I did? (I guess I was too busy trying to remember italian words that I did not pay much attention to what I was actually translating! hehehe.)
- A: Yeah. (I think she was a little pissed, thinking I was, as always, distracted.... hehehe. because after this she told me that she'll just call me later that night so I can concentrate on SB's show.)
- A: "I wish I could watch them perform live someday, and that I won't need you translating every single word of their songs to italian.. yeah, someday... hehehe".
- Din: "I wish you had your own SB representing your country around the world!"
- A: Awww.. thanks, sweetie... Good night.
- Din: Night, sweetest dream to you two.. Don't tire yourselves too much. hahaha!
